Plug it in, and you will see that the light turns green.ģ. Now attach the other end of the wire to the power head. First, connect the cable labeled “microUSB” to the USB port on the connector, as indicated in the following photo.Ģ. In the box, along with your TV Connector, you will find three cables and a power head. Keep in mind, thought, that these instructions are valid for the devices purchased in Spain, as the functionality and the cables provided in different countries might be different.ġ. In the case of the pioneering Phonak brand, this connector is called the TV Connector, and in this article, we are going to show you how to install and pair it to your hearing aids so that you can hear TV with extraordinary comfort, understanding and clarity. I believe the Marvels will only remember 2 of the TV connectors so if you have more that that their is a reset/connect button on the back you push and it connects you.A few days ago, in this blog, we talked about the advantages of bluetooth hearing aids and we were able to explain to you that one of the indisputable benefits of this technology is the fact that you can transmit the audio from your television directly to your hearing aids, as if they were wireless headphones of the highest quality, with the help of a revolutionary little connector that plugs into your TV. When the TV connector is hooked up and on all I have to do is walk within range of that device and it connects automatically. Well worth the effort!!! I do connect to my computer via bluetooth but its just not as easy as the TV connector. The optical cables I have found are a bit trickier to connect so practice at home and also note that some of the optical cables come with little plastic covers that if your not familiar with will take you a bit to figure out they need to be removed…Īlso some TV’s require you to go into their menu’s to enable or turn on the different outputs but once you get it working you can enjoy watching a movie or TV with others. The RCA jack on some TV’s may mute the speakers when you plug it in which it why the optical output is preferred. It works so well I’ve bought a number of them so that I can quickly connect without the hassle of trying to make the bluetooth connection work. (same device as Phonak, different packaging). The TV connector sold at Costco for around 100.00 works with the Marvels. If the “other TV’s” are in the homes of friends and relatives that give you access to the RCA jack or optical connector that is the best way to go. One of the advances Paradise made was the ability to pair with more than one device (up to 8 devices) and the ability to pair with 2 devices simultaneously at the exact same time… With Marvels it is my understanding if you want to pair via Bluetooth to another device, you must unpair first from say your phone and then open and close the battery doors, then pair to your laptop and it is a bit of a pain… The TV Connector 2 is not a Bluetooth device and connects to your Marvel Aids via a different protocol, so there is no need to reconnect after the initial setup via a small button on the connector, it will automatically reconnect once it has detected audio input, although it has an annoying little feature as it alerts you via small audio tones if there is no audio input, perhaps its just a reminder to switch the TV Connector off ? Cheers Kev I seem to recall that the paradise made some type of advancement with Bluetooth capabilities. Therefore if you want to connect to something else you have to turn Bluetooth off in the device to prevent unwanted connection. It’s my understanding that with most devices the connection is maintained as long as the 2 devices are within range and many will automatically reconnect when back in range. I’d be interested in knowing them so I can help other people. Now that I wrote that I remembered that there is a button on rechargeables that acts as an on off, So I guess there’s different ways to enter pairing mode. Do you need to open and close both battery doors to initiate the pairing process or is it only one hearing aid that you must do this with on the Marvel since there seems to be some kind of master relationship going on. ![]() I’m also trying to understand the pairing and connect process better with hearing aids to BT devices. I guess what I’m still wondering is why can’t you Bluetooth connect your aids directly to the computer to use zoom? All the posts have been very helpful, I’m working my way thru them trying to respond to everyone else who replied also.
